Acquasanta Terme is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 90 km south of Ancona and about 15 km southwest of Ascoli Piceno. It is located in the natural park known as the "Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park". The municipality of Acquasanta Terme contains the "frazioni" (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Corneto and Quintodecimo.

Acquasanta Terme borders the following municipalities: Arquata del Tronto, Ascoli Piceno, Montegallo, Roccafluvione, Valle Castellana.

The municipality of AcquaSanta Terme contains many small communities such as Matera é Vallecchia and Pozza. These communities were once home to poor peasants with large families. The population of AcquaSanta Terme decreased tremendously during the 1950s and 1960s, when many moved to the city during Italy's modernization period (1960-1968). But a large portion of settlers relocated to places such as France, Switzerland, the United States, and most of all Canada.

The AcquaSanta Terme area is known for its mineral-rich thermal baths that attract tourists from all over Le Marche. Over the last decade or so, the small rural municipality has become a hot spot for adventurous tourists from Germany and other parts of Italy who have converted the old houses of the peasants into vacation homes (cottages). The area of AcquaSanta is relatively affordable for purchasing real estate.

The name "AcquaSanta", means "Holy Water" in Italian. This is as a result of thermal baths.

The community features several historical buildings, among them the medieval castle "Castel di Luco" and 2 Roman bridges Ponte di Quintodecimo and Ponte Romano, which were part of the Via Salaria.
