CollegeHOF=Collie Antonio Langham (born
July 31 ,1972 inTown Creek, Alabama ), is a former professionalAmerican football player who was selected by theCleveland Browns in the first round (9th overall) of the1994 NFL Draft . A 6'0", 187 lbcornerback from theUniversity of Alabama , Langham played in seven NFL seasons from 1994-2000. His best year as a pro came during the 1996 season as a member of theBaltimore Ravens when he intercepted five passes for 59 yards.Langham caused the
Crimson Tide of theUniversity of Alabama to forfeit most of the 1993 season and sufferNCAA sanctions by secretly signing with an agent during the previous offseason. Langham also signed and submitted an application to enter the1993 NFL Draft , rendering him ineligible under NCAA rules, regardless of whether he had signed with an agent or not. TheUniversity of Alabama 's head football coachGene Stallings failed to inform both the SEC and theNCAA of Langham's draft application, or to declare Langham ineligible per NCAA rules. His ineligibility was revealed in late November 1993, and theUniversity of Alabama eventually had to forfeit eight wins and a tie from the 1993 football season. cite web | url=https://goomer.ncaa.org/wdbctx/LSDBi/LSDBi.MajorInfPackage.ProcessMultipleBylaws?p_Multiple=0&p_PK=160&p_Button=View+Public+Report&p_TextTerms=ThisIsADummyPhraseThatWillNotBeDuplicated&p_TextTerms2=ThisIsADummyPhraseThatWillNotBeDuplicated&p_Division=1 | title=NCAA Public Report on Infractions at Alabama| format=HTML | dateaccess=2006-12-11]References
