Prunoideae, also called Amygdaloideae, is the flowering plant subfamily containing the genera "Prunus" and "Prinsepia". This subfamily is placed within the Family Rosaceae or by someFact|date=February 2008 in its own family, the Prunaceae. Commercially, important members of the Prunoideae include plum, cherry, apricot, peach, and almond.

The fruit of these plants are known as stone fruit (botanically, a drupe), as each fruit contains a single, hard-shelled seed called a "stone" or pit.
