He made his Bundesliga debut on
September 18 ,2004 , as a substitute againstHannover 96 . On his first appearance in the starting line-up againstBorussia Mönchengladbach onFebruary 12 ,2005 , he scored his first league goal, becoming Werder Bremen's youngest-ever goalscorer at the age of 18 years and 161 days. Early in 2006, Hunt suffered a mysterious knee injury, which after some months was found to bebursitis . As a result, he missed the remainder of the season following the winter break. OnMarch 3 ,2007 , he bagged a hat-trick in the 3-0 Bundesliga win againstVfL Bochum .He is a joint British-German national, having a German father and an English mother, but has stated that he would only ever play international football for Germany. He is a current German under-21 international.
