February 20 ,1971 inTallahassee ,Florida ) During his tenure as a professional athlete with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints Williams, was able to excel as an undrafted free-agent out of Florida A&M University. Williams attended James S. Rickards High School where he was a three sport athlete playing baseball, football, and on the weigthlifting team. Lettered 3 yrs on varsity playing 1st & 3rd base and leading the team in all offensive categories 2 of the 3 years. He was named All-City and All-State during his Junior year with 7hrs and a .455 BA. While on the weightlifting teams he earned All-State Honors and won the State Clean & Jerk division with a 315lb effort which is still a school record.In football Williams earned All-City 3 yrs, All-State 2 yrs, and the right to play in the annual Florida-Georgia Football Classic after being named as the Florida Super Top 24 Player. Playing Linebacker, Center, and Punter Williams was named team MVP 2 consecutive years. After lettering 4 yrs at the varsity level Williams went on to play at FAMU. While under the guidance of Coach Ken Riley, Williams went on to become a powerful and athletic lineman earning ALL-MEAC Honors 3 of the four years (90-93) and earning offensive lineman of the year honors four consecutive years. The athletic Williams was often clocked 40 times in the 4.7 to 4.8 range and served a stint as the teams punter with a 38.8 yard avg. He was named to the Street & Smith's All-American Team in 1992. In 1993 the Cleveland Browns coach by Bill Belichick signed Williams to a free-agent contract where he develop under Coach Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) and Pat Hill (Fresno State). After joining the line rotation in 1994, Williams became a full time starter by the 1995 season. In 1996 the team moved to Baltimore to become the Ravens and Williams became the first franchise player in the teams brief history in 1998.
