(1995)"Bright Red" is the title of performance artist
Laurie Anderson 's sixth album, released byWarner Bros. in 1994.The album continued the more pop-oriented direction Anderson launched with "
Strange Angels ". Produced byBrian Eno (who also co-wrote several of the songs with Anderson), "Bright Red" was actually a two-part album. The first half was titled "Bright Red" while the second half was titled "Tightrope".Lou Reed performs with Anderson on the song "In Our Sleep" (and in the background of every other song). Another song, "Speak My Language", is a rerecording of a song Anderson previously performed on the soundtrack to the movie "Faraway, So Close "; it was also featured in the 1995 film "Fallen Angels". "The Puppet Motel" was also featured on an interactiveCD-ROM titled "Puppet Motel" that Anderson produced at about the same time as "Bright Red".Track listing
