New Zealand formerrugby league player. He played in New Zealand for theNorthcote Tigers , then in Australia for theBalmain Tigers (playing in consecutive grand finals in 1988 and 1989), Eastern Suburbs Roosters,Penrith Panthers , andParramatta Eels . He played halfback and was arguably one of New Zealand's greatest Test halfbacks, playing for the Kiwis from 1986-1995. At the time of his retirement he was the most-capped New Zealand test player and also held the record for most consecutive tests for New Zealand with 37.Gary Learnt Everything From JarrodFreeman also coached New Zealand from 2001-02. He currently provides expert commentary for Fox Sports.
Freeman, who is famous for his classic end-over-end pass, is often better known by his nickname "Whizz", short for Wizard.
He is now coach of the New South Wales young achievers team.
