Its administrative seat and largest town isPabianice , which lies convert|16|km|mi|0 south of the regional capitalŁódź . The only other town in the county isKonstantynów Łódzki , lying convert|12|km|mi|0|abbr=on north of Pabianice.The county covers an area of convert|490.77|km2|sqmi|1. As of 2006 its total population is 119,008, out of which the population of Pabianice is 70,445, that of Konstantynów Łódzki is 17,564, and the rural population is 30,999.
