Charles Fletcher MBE is the founder and General Director of Caledonia Media[1] based in Scotland, founder of the radio station Jubilee1 in Queensferry, and a member of the editorial board of the New Frontier Media Group.[2] He is also the chairman of MediaWise, a UK-based charitable trust that works for better journalism.
A journalist and broadcaster, he has worked for the BBC World Service, was part of the launch team at Sky News and editor of The Geneva Post in Switzerland. His work through Caledonia Media focuses on supporting and developing international media organisations.[2] He developed The Visegrad Guidelines, an ethical guide for Hungarian broadcast journalists.[3]
He was awarded the MBE in 2004 for helping extend democracy through the development of the media.[4] Fletcher is head of the Hungarian Radio Academy, in Budapest.
