Lorain Admiral King High School
The largest high school in the Lorain City School District, Admiral King High School opened in 1961 and is named for Lorain native
Admiral Ernest J. King ,Chief of Naval Operations during WWII. In 1995, due to declining district enrollment, the school district closed cross-town rival Lorain High School, and merged the student body and student records into the Admiral King High School facility. As a part of the merger, Admiral King High School was renamed Lorain Admiral King High School. Currently Lorain Admiral King is separated into three independently administrated "small schools":LAK Global Enterprise Technology
