P Vijayan is an 1999 batch IPS officer and the first and the current Commissioner of Police, Thrissur City Police. His earlier stints include Commissioner of Police, Kochi City Police; Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode City Police and Malappuram District, Superintendent of Police. Vijayan also played an active role in solving the Chelembra Bank Robbery case. He started his career as Kanhangad Assistant Superintendent of Police. His wife M. Beena is the Director of Fisheries Department.[1]
