Gouffran plays as a striker and is reknowned for his pace and ability to finish with either foot.

=Career=On May 20, 2007, Gouffran was awarded French Ligue 2 Player of the Season after a successful season with SM Caen which saw the club promoted to the Ligue 1. Bordeaux

After achieving success with Caen during the 07-08 Ligue 1 season, it was suspected Yoan would make a move elsewhere. =International Career=Gouffran is a France U-21 international. He took part in the 2006 U-21 Championships in Portugal, where he made four appearances and scored one goal. So far, he has made 22 appearances with the U-21's scoring 3 goals. He has yet to be called up to the France national football team.
