South Kelowna Elementary is a public elementary school in Kelowna, British Columbia part of School District 23 Central Okanagan.

History

South Kelowna Elementary School was created when South-East Kelowna Elementary (originally grades Kindergarten - 3, now a private school) was merged with the larger school at South Kelowna Elementary (where originally there was only grades 4-7). It was known as South-East Kelowna Elementary for a time, and the principal was Mr. Armstrong until the mid 1990s. Near the end of the decade the east wing of the building was demolished to make way for a larger complex, completed a few years later and now the site of the school. During this time of construction much of the grounds were acquired.

In 2000 the 7-year program of elementary school was switched for the 6-year program (middle school then became grades 7-9).
