Agura

Agura

Agura (胡座) is a way of sitting in Japan. It is the position normally referred to as "cross-legged" in the West, with each foot crossed beneath the other leg, and is different from the half-lotus and lotus positions.

This posture is informal, and reserved for men; women's informal sitting position has both legs on one side, for modesty.
