10th Vermont Infantry Regiment

The 10th Regiment, Vermont Volunteer Infantry (or 10th VVI) was a three years' infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War. It served in eastern theater, from September 1862 to June 1865. It served in the XXII, VII and VI Corps.

The regiment was mustered into United States service on September 1, 1862 at Brattleboro, Vermont.

It was engaged in, or present at, Orange Grove; the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Totopotomoy, Cold Harbor, and Weldon Railroad, during the Overland campaign; Monocacy; Winchester, Fisher's Hill, and Cedar Creek in the Shenandoah Vally campaign; Petersburg and Sailor's Creek.

The regiment lost during service: 149 men killed and mortally wounded, 2 died from accidents, 32 died in Confederate prisons and 153 died from disease; total loss 336.

The regiment mustered out of service on June 29, 1865.
