Steve was born near
Asheville, North Carolina and was raised as aMethodist . He attended High Point College where he earned a BA inPhilosophy and Boston University where he earned theSTB . After pastoring a church onCape Cod , he moved to Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church inFlorida , where he pastored for 25 years and started Key Life Network. After several publications,King College awarded him aLitt.D. . During this time he was part of a television show called "Hashing It Out," where he and his friendTony Campolo would debate current events and theological issues.Upon retiring from the pulpit, Brown accepted a position at
Reformed Theological Seminary inOrlando, Florida , to become the Professor of Communication and Practical Theology/Homiletics. He is also the host of "Steve Brown Etc.", a Saturday night Christian talk show on the Radio America Network. He often preaches during weekend services at his home church inWinter Springs, Florida .Key Life
Brown teaches on Key Life, a fifteen minute syndicated radio show heard around the country on around 300 radio stations and on the Internet, on which Brown teaches about grace and the Christian life. The show often ends with Brown's tag line, "You think about that. Amen." Key Life also distributes audio recordings and writings by Brown and is based in
