Chrysler Phoenix engine

Chrysler Phoenix engine

The new Phoenix line is a new family of V-6 engines scheduled to debut for model-year 2010 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. Chrysler has announced details, including the investment in plants ($2 billion, not including engineering of the engines themselves) and the fact that Daimler will share the basic engine architecture. The Phoenix engines, will be made in Kenosha, Wisconsin and Trenton, Michigan, a new factory in Mexico (with parts machined in Toledo, Ohio), as well as in Germany for Mercedes-Benz.

Insiders report that the engine will come in four basic sizes (3.0 L, 3.3 L, 3.6 L, and 4.0 L), each offered in various states of tune.
