Kinnigoli

Kinnigoli is a small town in Mangalore Taluk. It is located approximately 32 km from Mangalore City, 7 km from Kateel (a famous hindu piligrimage center), 8 km from Mulki (5 km from Mulki Railway station) and 17 km the from the Mangalore International Airport. Kinnigoli is a fast developing township.

Kinnigoli is well connected by road with adequate number of buses to all major cities and towns of the region. It is a central market place for surrounding villages like Pakshikere, Kateel, Punaroor, Niddodi, Neerude, Damarskatte, Mundkur, Sacheripet, etc. Weekly market (Vaarada Santhe as called in Kannada) is held on every Thursday.Bhuvanabhirama Udupa ,a native of Kinnigoli has been publishing Yugapurusha a monthly Kannada magazine.

The occupation of the people in Kinnigoli is predominantly agriculture. Paddy is the widely grown crop and is mostly grown for self consumption. Cash crops like arecanut and cashew are grown is small packets of large agricultural lands or on uncultivable hillocks. Mango, jackfruit, tamarind trees can be seen scattred over the farm lands.

Kinnigoli is rapidly urbanizing these days due to large influx of expatriates returning to Kinnigoli (mostly from the middle eastern countries) and settling down there. Kinnigoli has adequate educational institutions like the St. Mary's Boys High School, Little Flowers Girls School and the Pompei Pre University College that serves the educational needs of the people. Kinnigoli has a Hospital called Concetta Hosital and is run by the Bethany Sisters of the Little Flower, Mangalore.
