U Can Dance is a reality dance competition TV program in ABS-CBN hosted by Iya Villania and Derek Ramsay.

Hosts Information

Iya Villania – this popular young celebrity was discovered in a singing competition in Australia. Ever since relocating here in the Philippines, Iya has been successful at making herself into one of the country’s most recognizable faces. With her talent in singing, Iya has already established herself as a triple threat. She used to co-host Wowowee and is now busy co-hosting ASAP ’07 and U Can Dance. She is currently a VJ for the Philippine music video channel Myx. Not only is she great in hosting, Iya’s also a good actress. She even received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in the period film Aishite Imasu. She’s also one of the country’s favorite product endorsers.

Derek Ramsay – a former commercial model who’s claim to fame is when he won the MTV VJ hunt together with fellow model Anna Shier. Derek’s distinctly Pinoy good looks helped pave the way for him to become an actor. Derek was also part of the now-defunct fantaserye, Panday. He also appeared in a beer commercial together with the Queen of Talk, Kris Aquino. Currently, he plays the character of Chef Mito Valenzuela in the ABS-CBN series, Ysabella

Young stunners Iya Villania and Derek Ramsay hosts ABS-CBN’s new dance reality competition, U Can Dance which airs every Sunday night right after Sharon. The show has two contests, Sayaw Baranggay is wherein two dance groups from different baranggays dance their way into winning the weekly prize as well as the chance to go on head to head with the other weekly winners at the monthly eliminations. Lots of prizes are in store for the weekly kabaranggay winners wherein they’ll receive 10,000 pesos in cash while the winners of the monthly eliminations will receive 20,000 in cash while an ACSAT computer package and two water dispensers and an industrial fan from Eureka will be given to their baranggay. As for the Sayaw Baranggay Grand Prize, the winning group will receive Puma watches, Rudy Project eyewear, a 2 yr. scholarship from ACSAT and 500,000 pesos in cash while their baranggay will receive a livelihood showcase from ACSAT.

The Celebrity Showdance competition features 12 pairs of celebrities and professional dancers who will try to best out each other in the weekly eliminations. Out of the 12 pairs of celebrity show dancers, three pairs that will be picked through an electronic raffle will face off in the weekly eliminations. The celebrity showdancers who will have the highest score for the week will win 10,000 pesos in cash. Aside from the 500,000 peso grand prize, there’s also Puma watches, limited edition Rudy Project eyewear, 20,000 pesos worth of gift certificates from Salon Isabel, a living room showcase from WL Foods, a 2 year scholarship from ACSAT, and a business franchise worth 450,000 pesos from Kaila bags and accessories will be awarded to the winning pair.

Six male and six female celebrities are paired with 12 professional dancers, their performances will be rated by three celebrity judges, Choreographer to the Stars Maribeth Bichara, Jong Hilario from the Streetboys and the original Tanga queen Alma Moreno. Watch popular young celebrities like Nene Tamayo, Paolo Paraiso and Jenny Miller move and groove every Sunday night to be the Grand Celebrity Showdancer. As a bonus, the segment I Can Make You Dance features celebrities who were voted by the viewers to guest on the show.
