"How Could An Angel Break My Heart" is the fourth official single released from Toni Braxton's second album, "Secrets". The composition was co-written and co-produced by Toni Braxton and Babyface. Accompanied by Kenny G., the single failed to chart in the US. "Secrets" went to 8x Platinum status at the time of this single's release.

The fact that the single didn't even dent the U.S. pop and R&B charts was a surprise for fans and observers, for the album was one of the all-times most successful. However, it was potentially influenced by the fact that two of the three singles released off "Secrets" prior to "How Could an Angel Break My Heart" were double A-sided and their flipsides had also turned into specially huge airplay hits. This means that at the time this single was released, Braxton had already dominated the charts with five songs from the same album, so that radio programmers put very little emphasis on the sixth:
