Ruvell Martin (born August 10 1982, Muskegon, Michigan) is an American football wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers of the NFL. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School where on January 19, 2006 he was honored and put into their elite Walk Of Fame. He played quarterback in high school, then moved to wide receiver in college.

College Years

Martin attended Saginaw Valley State University and was a Marketing Major and a letterman in football. In football, he was a three-year letterman after he redshirted as a freshman. As a sophomore, he was named his team's Most Valuable Wide Receiver. As a junior, he was a second team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletice Conference selection. As a senior, he was a first team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletice Conference selection.

Professional career

Amsterdam Admirals

Martin earned All-NFL Europe honors after leading the league with 679 receiving yards and twelve touchdowns for the 2005 World Bowl champion Amsterdam Admirals.

Green Bay Packers

In the final game of the 2006 season against the Chicago Bears, Martin, starting in place of absent wideout Greg Jennings, caught seven passes for 118 yards.

On November 10, 2007 Martin had two touchdowns - his first multiple-TD game of his two-year career - in a 34-0 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. He finished the game with four catches for 57 yards. He was recently considered the third-string quarterback on the Packers behind Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers due to his experience playing the position, but that title was removed after the Packers signed Craig Nall to be their third quarterback. On November 22, 2007 (Thanksgiving), the Packers played the Detroit Lions. Ruvell caught a TD pass from Brett Favre, scoring against his hometown team and in front of friends and family members.

On March 31st, 2008, Martin signed his 1 year exclusive rights free agent tender offer. He will become a restricted free agent after the 2008 season.
