Cocconato is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 25 km east of Turin and about 25 km northwest of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,629 and an area of 16.8 km².^[1]

Cocconato borders the following municipalities: Aramengo, Brozolo, Montiglio Monferrato, Moransengo, Passerano Marmorito, Piovà Massaia, Robella, and Tonengo.
