In
2000 , Deutsch and Scott foundedSh-K-Boom Records . They named the company after themselves (Sherie and Kurt). The label's first two releases were Scott's debut album, "...Men I've Had," and the debut of her former "RENT" co-starAdam Pascal . Sh-K-Boom also participated in the marketing of the debut album of another "RENT" co-star,Anthony Rapp .In subsequent years, Deutsch and Sh-K-Boom started to produce and released
cast recording s ofmusical theatre productions in New York. This move filled a gap in the market and aided the preservation of musical theatre history: major record labels used to release recordings of shows on a regular basis, but in recent years even major Broadway shows may not see a major release, since the market for such recordings is relatively small. In 2004, a new musical theatre subsidiary of Sh-K-Boom, Ghostlight Records, was created. Ghostlight's first release was the Actors' Fund of America Benefit Recording of "Hair". It has since released several albums, including the original Broadway cast recordings of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and "
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee ". Sh-K-Boom continues to release solo albums by members of the New York musical theatre community. In November 2004, Sh-K-Boom produced the CD cast recording for theObie Award -winning musical "A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant ," which was later given four out of five stars onAllmusic [http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:yb1uak3ksm3m Original Soundtrack] , review of CD release, onAllmusic , Sean Westergaard, AMG Album ID : R 714785.] [ [http://www.sh-k-boom.com/scientology/ Sh-K-Boom Records] , official site, onKurt Deutsch 's company's soundtrack, "Disclaimer" CD released November2004 .] .Awards and Honors
