Badia ,Campitello di Fassa ,Canazei ,Corvara , San Martin (San Martino), and Santa Crestina Gherdëina (Santa Cristina Valgardena). The majority of the population speaks Ladin as first language. The name derives from the Latin "silva" ("wood").It is perhaps best known as one of the starting points of the Sella Ronda ski tour.
