StopWar Vancouver

[http://www.Stopwar.ca StopWar] is an anti-war coalition based in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It began organizing mass protests in the lead-up to the Iraq War, beginning with a march of 10,000 people in Vancouver on November 17, 2002. The StopWar coalition is part of a cross-Canada network of anti-war groups known as the [http://www.acp-cpa.ca/en/index.html Canadian Peace Alliance] .

The largest rallies organized by this coalition were held in the winter and spring of 2003, with over 30,000 marching on February 15, 2003, the day of the largest worldwide protests in history. StopWar has also held a number of major forums against war, featuring renown writers and activists, including Noam Chomsky, Robert Fisk, Tariq Ali, Helen Caldicott, Walden Bello, Phyllis Bennis, and Cindy Sheehan among others.
