ShopNBC

KTAQ is a commercial television station in Greenville, Texas, USA, broadcasting an analog signal in the Greenvile area on channel 47 and a digital signal in the Dallas area (over 63 miles away from the channel 47 transmitter site) on channel 46. It is currently a flagship station of the Promiseland Television Network and is owned & operated by Mike Simons (through Simons Broadcasting, LP). In addition to the religious programming, the station is seen on channel 24 through Time Warner Cable.

History

This station signed on April 1, 1994. KTAQ was not only affiliated with PTN, but also with other shopping networks. From 2000 to 2004, it was affiliated with America's Collectibles Network, though most of the shopping programming was relegated to nighttime hours. And from 2004-2006, they've changed shopping affiliates, to ShopNBC. After late 2006, KTAQ went to 24-hour religious programming.

Digital TV

On February 17, 2009 KTAQ's analog signal from the Greenvile area on channel 47 will be shut down, and will continue its digital only transmissions from the Dallas area. Because the digital transmitter site is over 63 miles from the Greenville site there may be many viewers in that area who will no longer receive KTAQ. Even though Greenville is within the digital signal's viewing area, it is along the outer fringes of that signal, making reception more difficult.
