Jack Molinas

Jacob "Jack" L. Molinas (October 31 1931 – August 3, 1975 [cite web|url=http://www.jewsinsports.org/profile.asp?sport=basketball&ID=376 |title=Molinas, Jack |publisher="JewsinSports.org" |accessdate=2008-03-12] ) was an American professional basketball player and one of the key figures in the point shaving scandal that almost destroyed NCAA basketball. Molinas attended Stuyvesant High School [cite news |url=http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9A01E2DD123EF930A35750C0A9649C8B63&n=Top/Reference/Times%20Topics/People/K/Konigsberg,%20Eric |title=Double Dribbling |first=Eric |last=Konigsberg |date=2002-03-03 |publisher=New York Times |accessdate=2007-11-02] and graduated from Columbia University in 1953. He played briefly in the NBA in 1954, participating in 29 games for the Fort Wayne Pistons before being banned for game-fixing activities. Molinas was said to have contact to New York City mobster Thomas Eboli. Molinas was murdered in 1975.
