Sovdepia

Sovdepia or Sovdepiya (Russian: Совдепия) was a derogatory name for Soviet Russia, and subsequently, the Soviet Union used by "White Russians", and others, who opposed Bolshevik rule. It is a contraction of the Russian expression, "Sovet Deputatov" (Совет Депутатов), i.e., "Council of Deputies", "Congress of Soviets of Workers', Soldiers' and Peasants' Deputies",

Modern usage may also refer to the authoritarian and bureaucratic style of rule and management characteristic of the Soviet Union.
