Jack Conaty (born
September 26 ,1946 inNew Haven, Connecticut ) is currently the chief political correspondent forWFLD-TV inChicago . He's been there since 1987.He holds a bachelor's degree in English from
Providence College inRhode Island . After teaching high school English for six years inNew Haven, Connecticut , Conaty decided to pursue a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.Conaty's first job as a reporter was for
WTVT-TV inTampa, Florida , and he subsequently worked atWNET /NJP-TV inNew Jersey as a weekend anchor, and atWJLA-TV (the local ABC affiliate in theWashington, D.C. market) as a national correspondent. From 1986 to 1987 he worked forWTTG , the FOX station in the D.C. area, before moving to WFLD. From 1986-87, he won anEmmy Award and was nominated for four others. He has also been honored withAssociated Press awards and theUnited Press International award for excellence in reporting.Mr. Conaty is the host of a politically-focused talk show, Fox Chicago Perspectives, which airs on Sunday mornings at 8 A.M., C.T. on
