Bodhi stones

Bodhi stones are mythical stones, mentioned in Mahabharata where it is said that eight stones was carved from the black rock of Mt. Meru.

In Mahabharata; each stone was given to eight elders of eight villages to protect the world from its powers. The story tells that once these stones were given the elder became enlightened and righteous.
