District of Canterbury Credit Union (DCCU) Ltd is a savings and loans credit union for residents and workers in the District of Canterbury local authority area in Kent, United Kingdom.
Founded in February 2005, it currently has around 250 members. The DCCU has branches in Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable. It is regulated by the Financial Services Authority. The objectives of DCCU are to provide its members with free financial education, offer low-rate loans, and encourage thrift. Rowan Williams, the current Archbishop of Canterbury, is a member of the credit union and speaks of the merits of the credit union movement.[1]
On the 23rd of September, 2011, District of Canterbury Credit Union merged with Kent Savers Credit Union.
