Miss Bianca (or simply "Bianca" to Bernard and Penny) is a fictional mouse and one of the protagonists of Disney's 1977 animated film "The Rescuers" and its 1990 sequel "The Rescuers Down Under". "Miss Bianca" first appeared in Margery Sharp's 1959 novel, "The Rescuers", one of the two books that was the basis for the Disney film. She was voiced by Eva Gabor.

The Rescue Aid Society

Miss Bianca works as the representative of Hungary at the "Rescue Aid Society", a mouse organization located in the basement of the United Nations building in New York City. Coincidentally, Bianca's voice actress, the late Eva Gabor, was also Hungarian. Miss Bianca arrives late (Although no one minds, her being so beautiful) the day in which the society has just got their hands on a bottle containing a plea for help. The message seems to come from a little girl named Penny, claiming to be in terrible trouble and desperately asking for help. After reading the heartbreaking letter, Miss Bianca humbly asks if she may be assigned the task of rescuing the girl. Mr. Chairman hesitates, but agrees to let her go if she'll take a male companion for protection, Miss Bianca agrees and from the many volunteers, she chose the one who was too shy to do so, Bernard, the janitor of the Rescue Aid Society. She is formally made up from a beautiful blonde Bianca.

Miss Bianca and Bernard

Miss Bianca and Bernard show a mutual attraction from the first time they meet and their hopes for romance are expressed in the song "Tomorrow is Another Day", the cheerful highlight of the film, rising over its rather melancholy atmosphere. However, in respect for Margery Sharp and her works, the Disney team decided not to evolve that romance beyond that, for never in Margery Sharp's stories, Bernard and Miss Bianca became more than just loving partners.

However, in "The Rescuers Down Under", the relationship has obviously developed deeply enough for Bernard to want to propose to her, although his personal trepidation and the pressures of work complicate matters. Nevertheless, when Bernard finally asks Bianca, she eagerly accepts, and they got married.
