The College of Business and Economics (CBE) of De La Salle University is one of six undergraduate and graduate schools of the University. It was established in 1920, as the College of Commerce, when the University began offering a two-year commercial course. In 1931, the Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree was first conferred after a third year was added to the initial two-year program.

In 1957, the College underwent its formal first survey by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities. Now known as the College of Business and Economics, it is home to two academic departments, which have been recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Development, Business Management and Economics.

Students of the CBE may opt to specialize in any of the following fields: Accountancy, Business Management, Legal Management, Management of Financial Institutions, Marketing Management, Advertising Management, or Applied Economics. Students can also choose to pursue a double-degree (Commerce-Commerce) program, which combines the degree of Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics with that of Accountancy or Commerce, major in any other business program of the College. The College also offers a double-degree (Liberal Arts-Commerce) program in partnership with the College of Liberal Arts, that combines a Bachelor of Arts major with that of Accountancy or Commerce, major in any other business program. Its administrative offices are located at the St. La Salle Hall.

It is currently the largest College of the University in terms of students. Many of its alumni have distinguished themselves as assuming top-level positions in the academe, business and industry, and government, such as Jose Diokno, Alberto Romulo, and Enrique Zobel.

Its primary offering is the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program, which is presently taught using a modular approach, that is, the entire program is divided into four modules: Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting, Advanced Accounting and Auditing, Managerial Accounting and Computer Information Systems, and Accounting Review. The primary aim of this approach is to produce board exam topnotchers and increase De La Salle's passing rate in the board exam. While the modular program aims to improve the University's standing as regards the board exams, the Accounting students are concerned about the necessary burden the program places on them as the modular program moves at a faster pace than the regular program.ref|Mod

Interdisciplinary Business Studies

The Interdisciplinary Business Studies (IBS) program was developed for qualified freshman applicants of the College of Business and Economics (CBE) who desire a more generalist orientation to business principles of the diverse disciplines of business and economics. The program draws on the strengths of the academic degrees of the CBE.

The Interdisciplinary Business Studies (IBS) program capitalizes on its interdisciplinary advantage by allowing the students to choose a minor track on the following disciplines : Business Management, Economics, Marketing Management, Legal Management, Management of Financial Institutions, and Management Accounting. This is a fundamental advantage only an IBS student could experience. Unlike other business students, IBS is the only program that allows students to take subjects from all the disciplines/departments offered by the College of Business and Economics. This flexibility provides an IBS student maximum learning required of the student to cope with career options in the future. As such, students enrolled in the IBS program must expect to undergo rigorous training in terms of independent judgment, taking initiative, and making decisions as they chart and design their IBS discipline up until graduation.

Its past Directors were Dr. Rustica D. Badillo (SY 2003-04); Dr. Junnette Perez (SY 2004-05); Mr. Edward See (SY 2005-06) and Mr. Frederick A. Halcon (SY 2006-07, 2007-08).
