Schimpff's Confectionery is a candy store and museum located in
Jeffersonville, Indiana , within theOld Jeffersonville Historic District . It was opened in 1891 at the same site it is today by Gustav Schimpff Sr. and Jr., although the family had been making candy in theLouisville, Kentucky area since the 1850s. It has remained in operation the entire time. It is most famous nationwide for itsRed Hots , although it also features Modjeskas (Caramel -coveredmarshmallows named after the Polish ActressHelena Modjeska who once visited Louisville) and hard candy fish. The museum, attached to the store, features candy exhibits throughout the ages, including Hershey's and Nestle's paraphernalia.It was featured on the
