Antoinette Sayeh

Dr. Antoinette M. Sayeh (born 12 July 1958 in Monrovia, Liberia) is a Liberian politician and economist. Sayeh will begin an appointment as the Director of the African Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in on July 7th, 2008.

Prior to that, she was a politician in Liberia and since January 2006, Minister of Finance under Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. Sayeh is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Sayeh has also worked for the World Bank as country director for Benin, Niger, and Togo. According to the BBC, Sayeh has "delighted international financial institutions" as Minister of Finance. Antoinette has one son, Dekonti Sayeh, a junior at Gettysburg University.
