Casey Urlacher (born August 24, 1979 in Pasco, Washington) is a former American football defensive tackle/offensive tackle who played for the Chicago Rush and the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League. While Casey established himself as an impressive athlete during his college years, he may most notably be recognized as the younger brother of Brian Urlacher.

Early life

Casey was born to Brad and Lavoyda Urlacher in 1979. Following the couple’s divorce, Lavoyda gained custody of her children and moved the family to Lovington, New Mexico. Lavoyda spent a majority of her time between jobs, making just enough money to keep the family afloat. Eventually, Lavoyda married Troy Lenard who helped raise her three children.

During his high school years, Casey distinguished himself as a premier football player, helping Lovington High School record a 14-0 season. Together, Casey and his older brother, Brian, earned a prodigious reputation around Lovington. Following Brian’s graduation, Casey was promoted to captain of the football team. Also, outside of football, Casey ran track and played basketball and baseball.

College career

Casey spent his first two years of college at the New Mexico Military Institute. During his first two years, he only managed to play for one season, while redshirting the other.

In 2000, Casey moved in with Brian in his house in Lake Bluff, Illinois, and attended Lake Forest College. While playing as a Forester, Casey helped the team record three victorious seasons. Casey had not only broken various school records, but was also chosen to represent the school on numerous all-star teams.

Professional career

While Casey was not chosen in the 2003 NFL Draft, he was still determined to play football. The Chicago Rush eventually signed him to play as a fullback and linebacker. After two years, Casey left the Rush in favor of the Nashville Kats, where he played a single season.
