Jean Léon Côté (born:
May 26 ,1867 Les Éboulements,Quebec died:September 23 ,1924 ) was a prominateCanadian politician.Jean was first elected to the
Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1909 Alberta general election for the district of Athabasca representing theAlberta Liberal Party . In the 1913 Alberta general election he changed to the newly created district ofGrouard and served that district for 3 terms until he resigned in 1923.Jean was appointed to a Cabinet post in 1918. He assumed the responsibility of the Provincial Secretary position, and held it until the Liberal governments defeat in 1921.
Jean was appointed to the
Canadian Senate to represent theLiberal Party of Canada in 1923 byWilliam Lyon Mackenzie King but died one year later.External links
