Biography

When Jad Choueiri was just a kid and very young he loved singing for Madonna. She was his trueinspiration.At the age of 5, Jad started mimicking hit songs by his first passion, Madonna. At 10, he and his parents fled their home to a hotel over the Lebanese mountains because of the war. Inside the hotel lobby, the residents became the first audience for his amateur dancing and singing acts. While a student at L’Athenée de Beyrouth, Jad was simultaneously the ringleader of the kiddy band Ambitious Jay and a straight-A student. The band was a hit — at least at school and at birthday parties. His parents desperately wanted him to study medicine or political science (to live up to the image of his grandfather, who was an established politician) after he received his baccalaureate in French literature in 1997. Jad, though, insisted on studying at L’Ecole de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (The School of Audiovisual Directing) at the Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts (or ALBA, as it is known). Jad left Lebanon two years later, at the top of his class, after being accepted by the Sorbonne in Paris, where he obtained his degree in Arts du Spectacle (Performing Arts) in cinematographic studies. During his stay in France, Jad was active in stage plays and co-starred in a Canadian experimental movie called Trainée de Bruit (Traces of Noise). In 2001, during his summer holidays in Beirut, Jad entered the infamous Studio El-Fan talent show, winning first prize (a smashing $25,000) as Best Director for the Music Video of Ya Mustapha, a folkloric 1960s ballad revamped by the Lebanese singer Rida Boutros. But Jad’s real ambition was to perform in front of the camera, not just to direct other singers from behind it. In the year 2003, Jad appeared on Music Channels in his first work for his hit Aoullk Eih. Jad sang and danced on the tune of his first song which combined both Arabic-Egyptian and English lyrics. It was only until the year 2006 that Jad released his first album entitled Al Mouftah (The Key, 2006). In this album, Jad combined singles released between 2003 and 2006 with new material which he composed himself. Egypt Today, an English language magazine based in Cairo, described Jad Choueiri as "Arguably the most exciting arrival on the regional music scene in years," they noted that he "He has quickly established himself as a multi talented songwriter and composer."

Jad Choueiri was behind the launching of a number of stars such as Maria and Tina just to name few. He directed the first videos of both Maria and Tina.Jad and the people who work with him ride a wave of sexually in their music and video clips which is spreading like fire on Arabic music channels.

While most of Jads work rely on sexuality, where skin deep and sexy movements occupy a huge frame of his camera, Jad proved to a be an excellent director. Jad cooperated with Joana Mallah in the year 2006 to produce a very talented video clip. The clip which he directed for Joana Mallah was so well prepared, that it made all critics take about him in a positive way. Jad also sang with the singer Malak El-Naser in the duet " Warrini " . Now , Jad is preparing his two new albums , an English one and an Arabic one . His new English single " Funky Arabs " will be released soon with a hot video clip.

Personal life

Jad Choueiri declared that his sexual life is far better than his emotional life. This part of his life seems to push Jad towards making videos which have been described by some people as unacceptable and not part of our oriental culture. Jad Choueiri is proving to the world that despite his style, which some people disapprove, he is still talented and an All-In-One artist.
