|"Love's Sweet Exile/Repeat" was a single released by the Welsh rock band
Manic Street Preachers onOctober 28 ,1991 . It was the second single to be released from their debut album, "Generation Terrorists ".The CD and standard 12" included "Democracy Coma" (which was an album track on the U.S. version of the debut album) whereas the 7" had no extra tracks. There was also a limited
gatefold 12" with a bonus live version ofStay Beautiful . The single reached number twenty-six in UK charts onNovember 9 ,1991 . It was at that point the band's highest charting single. The track 'Love's Sweet Exile' was originally called "Faceless Sense Of Void". The principal difference between the two is that the original version does not have the chorus of the recorded version. The melody for the chorus was taken from another unreleased Manic Street Preachers song, "Just Can't Be Happy Without You". The band,
James Dean Bradfield in particular, have said that they dislike the version recorded forGeneration Terrorists .The video for the song is notorious for its imagery. Band members and lyricists
Nicky Wire andRichey James Edwards are apparently naked while in close contact with each other, while Bradfield is also apparently naked, with an archery-like target drawn on his stomach. Many fans consider this as the band's best video.Track listing
