James Stevens was elected Campaign Coordinator for the [http://www.saliberals.org.au South Australian Liberal Party] in August 2006. From July 2004 to July 2006 he served as President of the [http://www.sayoungliberals.com South Australian Young Liberals] .

He has served on the State Executive of the South Australian Liberal Party and the Federal Council of the Liberal Party of Australia since July 2004. He is currently employed as a staffer for Christopher Pyne MP.

At 2am Sunday morning the 28th of October 2007, James and Christopher Pyne were driving around checking that Christopher's campaign posters had not been tampered with.
