John R. Settle (born June 2, 1965 in Reidsville, North Carolina), is a former professional American football player. A 5'9", 207-lb. undrafted running back from Appalachian State University, Settle played for the Atlanta Falcons from 1987-1990. During the 1988 NFL season, he was selected to the 1988 Pro Bowl after rushing for a career high 1,024 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was the first undrafted running back in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.

Settle is currently the running backs coach at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
