"The Case of the Stuttering Pig" was a Looney Tunes animated cartoon, starring Porky Pig and Petunia Pig, released to theaters on October 30th, 1937. This short was directed by Frank Tashlin, and the music was composed by Carl Stalling.__NOTOC__

Synopsis

One dark and stormy night, Porky and his brothers and sister learn from lawyer Goodwill that they are set to inherit a fortune from their rich uncle Solomon, with the kindly lawyer next in line after them. After Goodwill leaves, he walks into a secret laboratory and drinks a bottle of Jekyll and Hyde juice and turns into a hideous monster bent on killing them. The monster warns the audience not to interfere, with special emphasis on the man in the third row. One by one, he kidnaps the brothers, leaving only Porky and Petunia. As Porky and Petunia walk through the house, trying to find their brothers, the monster grabs Petunia, unbeknownst to Porky, and then starts trailing Porky. When Porky sees the monster, he runs up the stairs, only to meet the monster at the top. He then runs down the stairs, into the laboratory where the monster is holding Petunia and the brothers prisoner. No sooner has Porky freed them, the monster breaks in and corners the six pigs. Just when it looks as though the monster is going to kill them, an object (coming seemingly out of nowhere) flies into the monster, trapping him in the stocks where he had earlier held Petunia and the brothers prisoner. The monster asks who threw it, and a disembodied voice identifies himself. The monster asks who it is, and the unseen person declares "It's the guy in the third row, you jerk!".

* This cartoon parodies many of the typical horror movie elements of the 1930s, particularly the movies from Universal Studios.
* This is an unusual cartoon in that Petunia Pig appears as Porky's sister, rather than his girlfriend, as in her other appearances.
* This short was released on the 4th Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD box set on Tuesday, November 14th, 2006.
* The "man in the third row" is Mel Blanc speaking in his real voice.
* The picture of Porkey's uncle is a caracture of Oliver Hardy.
