The Berenstain Bears and the Election

"The Berenstain Bears and The Election" is an episode in the Berenstain Bears.

Plot synopsis

In the story, the Bear Family goes out for a drive on the way. However, they find that the potholes are still there. In the end they get a flat tire. Papa is the most frustrated. He gets a pump and goes to the town hall to see Mayor Honeypot about the potholes. Mayor Honeypot has no time to deal with Papa so Papa declares he wants to be elected mayor. He does a speech to say about how everything is going to be. He promises there will be no more potholes. Mama asks Papa if he can handle it, because it's a very big job. Papa ignores Mama and says he can handle it all by himself and never get tired. Brother and Sister tell Mama the first thing they have to do to become mayor. The first thing they do is draw a picture of Papa so that everyone will see that he wants to be elected mayor. They plant it into the ground. After that they have lunch, but Papa keeps on getting door guests asking if he becomes elected mayor will he do this and that. In the end Papa does not get a chance to eat his meal and gets very tired. Papa thinks Mama was right. Next morning they go to Brother and Sister's school to vote. Brother and Sister tell Papa who won. Papa happily says Mayor Honeypot. Brother and Sister ask why. Mayor Honeypot comes along and Papa says that instead of becoming elected mayor he should have been the helper and leave it all to Mayor Honeypot. He then declares himself as first counseller and Brother and Sister ask to be the helpers too. Papa and Mayor Honeypot say yes. Soon all goes well for the Bear Family and of course Papa is first counseller.
