Virtual Collaboration

Virtual Collaboration

Virtual Collaboration - Two or more people collaborating together to accomplish a task without the use of face to face interaction. Examples of Virtual Collaboration include Audio Conferencing, Video Conferencing, or Computer mediated communication.

Virtual collaboration allows many people to collaborate on many idea's, topics or projects. The essence of Virtual Collaboration is sharing. By creating an environment to share idea's related to infinite topics, Virtual Collaboration taps into a global network of intelligence. Numerous Information Technology enterprises are beginning to realize the magnitude of Virtual Collaboration, for example Microsoft has launched a solution to facilitate Virtual Collaboration through the Microsoft Suite of programs.

Virtual Collaboration allows for the business community to actively seek out participation from consumers in the design and development of new products. It allows for the business community to solve problems otherwise financially out of reach. By posting a problem in a shared environment a community of experts not affiliated with the enterprise can provide a solution without the incurring exorbitant internal costs. Virtual Collaboration allows for flexibility, creativity and innovation without the development of the "brick and mortar" environment associated with the typical business culture of the 20th century.
