Richard Westbrook (born
10 July 1975 ) is an Englishauto racing driver fromIslington ,London notable for his success racingPorsche cars. He has won both thePorsche Supercup international championship and the Porsche Carrera Cup in his nativeGreat Britain .The Porsche Carrera Cup commenced in 2002, and Richard was immediately a front-runner. He won the 2004 title, and was runner-up in 2003 and 2005. His 2005 totals for victories and pole positions are both series records. Having done a few Supercup races in 2002, he returned in 2005, in rounds which did not clash with his UK commitments. He won the season opener in
Bahrain and came 9th overall.2006 was a big year however. He finished every Supercup race on the podium, wrapping up the title with 2 races to go, against drivers such as
Uwe Alzen ,Alessandro Zampedri andPatrick Huisman . He has also done several Carrera races at home, alternating the car withDanny Watts . Both won races in the #2 car, but after a run of strong drives from Watts, Danny kept the ride to the end of the season, finishing 3rd overall.In 2007. he won his second Porsche Supercup title in a row, with wins in Spain and Hungary, along with five other podium finishes.
