Roly Platt (born
July 5 ,1958 ,Toronto ,Ontario ) is a Canadian musician. He is a diatonicharmonica player.For the past 30 years, Toronto native Roly Platt remains one of Canada’s premier harmonicaplayers. Roly’s versatility and skill on the instrument has enabled him to become a sought-after live and studio musician. To date, he has been recorded on over 800 national commercials, TV/ film scoresand album cuts.After first learning to play Harp by listening to mostly Blues and a couple of Bluegrass albums, Roly’s early yearson the road introduced him to a wider variety of music including; Country-Swing, Country Rock, R&B & Jazz. This experience of having to incorporate the Harp into non-traditional roles helped form his melodic approach to playing and define his unique style.Roly is actively playing and recording and can be seen with Suzie Vinnick, Rick Fines, John Findlay or sitting in with some old (and new) friends around the Toronto area.
