__TOC__Cambridge City Council, England is a district council in the county of Cambridgeshire.
Activities
The council provides various facilities and services within the city. These include parks and open spaces, waste collection, council housing and local planning.
The Council also organises numerous events throughout the year, including the Cambridge Folk Festival and a program of free summer entertainment entitled "Summer in the City".
Councillors
There are forty two city councillors with three assigned to each ward. The council is composed of 28 Liberal Democrat, 11 Labour, 1 Conservative, 1 Green Party and 1 Independent councillors.
The current (2008) Mayor is Councillor Mike Dixon and the Deputy Mayor is Councillor Russ McPherson. The leader of the council is Councillor Ian Nimmo-Smith. The highest non-elected official is the Chief Executive, Rob Hammond.
