5535 Annefrank (pron-en|ˌæn ˈfrænk) is an inner main belt
asteroid , and member of theAugusta family . It was discovered byKarl Reinmuth in 1942. It is named afterAnne Frank , the Dutch-Jewish diarist who died in aconcentration camp (the name was not chosen until about 1995).On November 2, 2002, the Stardust space probe flew past Annefrank at a distance of 3079 km. Its images show the asteroid to be 6.6 × 5.0 × 3.4 km in diameter, twice as big as previously thought, and of an irregular shape with craters. From the photographs, the
albedo of Annefrank was computed to be 0.24.External links
