Sean Godley, (born
17 November 1981 ), is an Irish-Australian writer and poet.Born in
Cavan , he is the son ofJohn Godley, 3rd Baron Kilbracken and his second wife, Susan Heazlewood. He grew up mainly at the family's estate,Killegar House , inCarrigallen ,County Leitrim , and was educated mainly inEngland .His poetry is largely lyrical, influenced by
Michael Dransfield andDylan Thomas , and is concerned predominantly with mortality and monoism. He won the prize for the best Short Poem at Ireland's leadingliterary festival , theListowel Writer's Week, in 2006 for hissonnet "Sitting Still". [http://www.writersweek.ie/competitions.htm] He is also a recipient of the "Leitrim Guardian " Literary Award for his short story "Flying the Nest"Sean began an MA in Writing at NUI Galway in September 2006.
