The club was formed in 1945 as a result of a merger and currently play in the Championnat National, the third level of French football. Beauvais plays its home matches at the Stade Pierre Brisson located within the city. The team is managed by Alexandre Clément and captained by defender Léonard Mendy.
AS Beauvais was founded in 1945 under the name AS Beauvais-Marissel as a result of a merger between local clubs Véloce Club Beauvaisien and Union Sportive de Voisinlieu. The club began its history as an amateur club, but achieved professional status in 1986. From 1986–2002, Beauvais played in the second division of French football. Despite having an unknown status nationally, Beauvais has a flourishing record locally in the Picardie region. The club has won the Division d'Honneur of Picardie six times and has attained the Coupe de l'Oise 15 times, as well as one Coupe de Picardie victory.
